Labor Manager > Labor & Scheduling > Send Employee Messages
The Workforce system provides a tool for sending messages to employees through the MyWorkforce portal. If employees have elected to receive email notifications, they will also receive an email with a link to login. Note that messages will not be sent to employees via SMS (text message). Employees who have elected to not receive notifications via email will need to proactively monitor their messages via the MyWorkforce portal. To view messages, employees will need to log in to MyWorkforce and go to Messages. Employees with new messages will be automatically redirected to the Messages screen upon log in.
Only users assigned as manager users on the Employee setup are able to send messages.
1.Define your audience.
Various filters are available to define the audience for the message. If all are left blank, the message will go to everyone with a MyWorkforce ID. The filter fields available are:
To select a specific employee, click on the magnifying glass icon and either begin typing a name or scroll through the list to find them. Once located, highlight the name and click the OK button. |
To send a message to a specific department, choose one from the drop-down. |
To send a message to all employees who work a specific job, select the job from the drop-down. |
To send a message to a specific entity, click on the magnifying glass icon and either begin typing the entity name or scroll through the list to locate it. Once found, highlight the entity and click the OK button. To send the notification to all entities the user has access to, leave the Entity field blank. |
If you have defined a store group 1, you may select the appropriate store group from the drop-down. Note, in this example, a store group of 'Region' has been set up. |
If you have defined a store group 2, you may select the appropriate store group from the drop-down. Note, in this example, a store group of 'Concept' has been set up. |
If you have defined entity filters, you may select one from the drop-down. |
Note that you can also combine filter fields. For example, you may want to send a message to all employees with the job of 'Server' in the 'Pacific' region. In this case, you would select 'Server' from the job drop-down and 'Pacific' from the Region/Store Group 1 drop-down.
2.Type your message in the space provided.
3.Click the Send button.
