DSR Setup Overview

Setting up Compeat for Daily Sales Report (DSR) usage involves the following steps, which should be done in the order in which they appear in the menu. You will need to work with the Compeat Support department in order to setup an interface to poll the information automatically or you can choose to manually enter information in the DSR screen.

Polling Data

The basic procedure for working with Compeat to poll daily sales information from your POS machines to your Compeat Daily Sales Report is as follows:

  1. You must provide the Compeat Support department with information on how to access and log on to your POS machine/s.
  2. Once you have provided Compeat with information on how to connect to and log on to your POS and our Support department can successfully log on to your POS machines, they will install what is referred to as the "polling client." This is simply a tool used to automatically poll information (your sales totals by grouping e.g., Food, Beverage N/A, Wine, Liquor, Draft Beer, etc.… and your receipts by grouping e.g., total Amex receipts, total Visa receipts and so on) from your POS machines on a nightly  basis (after close of business).
  3. You will need to setup the DSR definitions for all of your stores in Compeat. The DSR definitions tell Compeat what information should be polled in order to get a balanced daily sales journal entry into Compeat to post to the general ledger.
  4. Once you have finished setting up the DSR definitions in Compeat, you will need to notify Compeat Support so they can begin the mapping process to get Compeat to pull the correct information from the POS.  Compeat Support must have connectivity to the POS in order to do this.
  5. Once Support has completed mapping and begin polling the information into Compeat, you will need to check the daily sales reports each day to see if we are bringing over all of the information needed to have a balanced daily sales report in Compeat. If there is information missing, the daily sales report in Compeat will not balance. You will need to let our support department know this, so we can script to poll whatever additional information is needed. We will work with you as needed until you are consistently getting a balanced DSR report in Compeat on a daily basis.
  6. Once we have established that the DSRs are consistently balancing, you will have to let us know if some anomaly occurs (such as we did not poll, or the DSR doesn’t balance on a particular day). Changes that you make to your POS can affect the DSR in Compeat and throw it out of balance if you do not notify us of such changes so we can make adjustments.
  7. If you report to us that the DSRs are not balancing or that we did not poll, it will go in as a support ticket. We will need connectivity to the POS to work on such tickets for you.
