Setting up Compeat for Daily Sales Report (DSR) usage involves the following steps, which should be done in the order in which they appear in the menu. Categories Categories allows you to populate the Category drop-down menu with sales categories that will appear the Time Periods tab of the DSR Definitions. These can alternatively be entered directly into the DSR Definitions screen.
Sales Groups Sales Groups allows you to populate drop-down menu for groups that will appear the Time Periods tab of the DSR Definitions screen. These can alternatively be entered directly into the DSR Definitions screen.
Payment Types This screen allows you to define payment types to populate the Payment Type drop-down menu in the Credit Cards tab of the DSR Definitions screen.
Managers If managers are defined and used, reports can be generated that show, for example, the comps per manager. These will populate the Manager drop-down menu in the Daily Sales Report, Comps tab.

Comps Comps are items given at no cost. You can define various types of comps that can then be selected in from drop-down menu in the Daily Sales Report, Comps tab. In order to account for all costs, comp codes with associated GL accounts should be defined.
Paid Outs Paid Outs are miscellaneous expenses paid out of the cash register. You can define various types of paid outs and associate them with specific GL accounts. These will populate the drop-down menu in the Daily Sales Report, Paid Outs tab. In order to account for all expenses, paid outs should be defined.
Additional Deposits Additional deposits provide a way to account for miscellaneous income that is generally not sales related and would not typically be recorded on the Daily Sales Report, Sales tab. Examples include grease trap sales, vending machine commissions, etc. In order to account for all sources of income, not just POS sales data, additional deposits should be defined.
DSR Definitions Daily sales report (DSR) definitions control the behavior of the actual DSR transactions screens and how the DSR information entered should be posted in the general ledger.
