Categories

The Categories screen allows you to add or delete categories that appear in the Time Periods tab of DSR Definitions. This step is optional and category names can be entered directly into the Time Period tab; the advantage of populating a drop-menu is that it can help ensure greater consistency in category naming.

Note: Alternatively, you can create sales categories by revenue center if your POS is setup to do so.

Generally, categories should be defined to reflect the categories of the POS system.

To create a new category:

  1. From the Setup menu, select the DSR submenu, and then Categories.

  2. Click the New Record button in the toolbar.

  3. Enter a category description.

  4. Click Save.

As with most records, you can view a list of all categories by pressing the F8 key.
