Home > Setting Up Compeat > Polling > Polling Overview
Note: Within Compeat there are several ways to setup polling. Changing any of the polling screens can have an adverse effect on existing polling. Please contact Compeat Support before making any changes unless you are familiar with the setup.
The polling process and setup described in the POS interfaces section including ‘POS Mapping Utility’ and ‘Specific POS Tracking Definitions’ are for use with Compeat’s legacy polling products which include polling with the application based polling client and polling of Micros 8700 and 9700 through the NT Polling service. The screens in the ‘Polling’ screens section describe polling through the use of a more recently developed service based client. These two sections are entirely independent of each other, and depending on your POS type and the date of your implementation, you may be using the application based client or service based clients on you POS, or in some cases both.
This section contains a number of screens used to configure polling. The process of polling configuration is fairly complicated and is best performed by Compeat personnel. The help topics in this section give a minimal amount of technical information on the screens, with the assumption that the initial configuration would be done by Compeat and that these screens would then be used only to make minor modifications.
