Compeat Customers include any person or business that you define with an accounts receivable relationship on this screen. They might be customers with in-restaurant charge accounts or customers of a commissary's products, for example.
A list of customers, available using this screen's Print button, prints alphabetically by company name. Any record without an associated company name prints alphabetically by last name.
Click the Add this customer to all entities button to propagate the customer information to all entities.
To access the screen, go to, Setup > Accounts Receivable and select either Customers (Restaurant Specific) for the current entity only, or Customers (All Stores) for all entities.
Customer # A system-generated number is assigned to a new customer when you save the screen. You can manually enter a number of your choosing before that.
First Name, Last Name, Company For each customer, you are required to enter either a customer last name or a company name. Other fields are optional.
Billing Address, Shipping Address Enter the billing and, if different, shipping address (and its phone number, which appears by the address on the Shipping Ticket) of the customer. Multiple shipping addresses can be entered.
Phone, Fax, E-mail Enter contact information as desired.
Sales Tax Optionally select a sales tax description from the drop-down list to assign to this customer. These are defined on the Sales Taxes or Sales Tax Groups screens . This rate will be used for Outside Orders that have an FOB field marked Deliver. Orders with FOB fields marked Pickup will use the sales tax rate of the commissary.
Price Level Select a Price Level for this customer from the drop-down list. Price Levels are defined under Setup > Outside Sales > Price Levels. These Price Level designations become line items on the Commissary tabs of a commissary's Restaurant Inventory Items and Prep Items screens, where different prices, corresponding to each definition, are defined item-by-item. Then, when you assign a Price Level to a particular customer here, it will be used to determine prices on the Outside Orders screen.
A/R Account (optional) To setup an account specific to a customer, select an account from the drop-down menu. This account will override the general AR Account specified under Other Definitions.
Reseller # The reseller number is for customers to whom you will be selling merchandise for resale. The contents of this field do not affect other parts of the application.
Active This check box allows you to de-activate (uncheck) a customer without deleting the customer from your records. A deactivated customer cannot be entered on the DSR screen.
Enter or select the entity names or numbers you want the customer to have access to. You can enter a restaurant-specific POS code for a customer that will be used when polling DSR House Accounts data.
Configuration of customer groups is optional. It is useful if you wish to be able to analyze commissary sales by customer group. For example, if you had different brokers or sales people assigned to customers, you could group by the broker name; or you might group by type of sale, such as whether a particular group of customers are tax exempt.
Select from [Customer Group #1] and [Customer Group #2], which you can define for your enterprise on the Enterprise Definitions screen of the Setup menu, any group definitions you wish to associate with this customer.
This tab provides a text area to enter any notes you would like to associate with the customer.
