The process of integrating a POS system with Compeat in your restaurant is the same for any POS, except where noted below.
Print detailed tracking file(s) from the POS system you have installed.
Print the POS Mapping Utility screen (in Compeat) so you can have your complete DSR field list (the left column in the Mapping Utility screen) in front of you. Define these fields on the DSR Definitions' Time Periods tab if you have not already done so.
Open the appropriate POS Tracking Definitions screen in Compeat.
For each POS system tracking number you want to track in Compeat, create a definition as follows:
Click New Record to clear the Tracking Definitions screen.
Enter the tracking number(s) you are about to define to Compeat.
Note: This step varies for Aloha, Digital Dining, Micros 3700, Micros 8700, Micros 9700, PixelPoint, POSitouch, Remanco, and RPower.
Type a description of the DSR field you want to associate with the tracking number(s). The description you type here will appear in the drop-down list of available POS fields for each DSR field in the POS Mapping Utility screen.
Note: If you assign multiple tracking numbers to the same description (and then associate that description with a DSR field), Compeat will total the POS field figures (from the multiple tracking numbers) in the DSR field. This could be useful if, for example, your POS kept track of liquor, wine, and beer taxes in separate accounts. Since the Compeat DSR has only one field for alcohol tax, you could assign the tracking number for each of the three POS fields to the description ALCOTX, and associate that description with the DSR field for alcohol tax, in order to get that field to display the total tax.
Click Save to save the association, then repeat these steps for the next tracking number until you have done them all.
Open the POS Mapping Utility screen. For each DSR field, select the POS field (from those entered above) that is associated with the appropriate tracking number.
Click the Update Mappings button so that all your associations are saved to the system.
