Use Par Maintenance to easily update the par levels for multiple inventory items at once.
When you first access this screen, all of the items that have been defined for your restaurant are displayed in alphabetical order by Description. You can apply filters to show only the items you are interested in setting up pars for.
Multiple filters can be used by themselves or in conjuction with one another to make par setup quick and easy.
Level Filtering To limit the items that display, you can select any combination of levels 1 – 3. For example, if you wish to set par levels for wine only, you might select Liquor from the Level 1 drop-down list, and Wines from the Level 2 drop-down list.
To return the list to displaying all items, clear any values from Level 1 – 3 at the top of the screen.
Vendor Filtering You can build par levels for a single vendor using this filter. Only items with the selected vendor assigned to them will be presented.
Par Filtering You may wish to only work on a single par list at one time, you can filter the displayed pars using these checkboxes.
Load Records You must select the “Load Records” button to apply your level and vendor filters.
Each item requires two amounts for every par you set.
Stock The number of inventory units you want to ‘build to’ when determining your needed quantity.
Reorder The ‘trigger’ for reordering products
Example – If you setup a Stock level of 100 and a reorder level of 50, when you get down to 50 or less inventory units of your product, the system will suggest that you order enough product to bring you back to at least 100 inventory units.
It is recommended that you consider your purchase units when setting pars. If your order a product in a case of 24 then you would generally setup your par/reorder levels in units of 24. (stock of 48 with a reorder of 24)
Click in the appropriate Par level column for the appropriate inventory item. Enter the new Stock or Reorder par level for this item (zeroes are recorded and retained for viewing and printing). Continue to enter other par levels for the same item or for other items as needed.
If you leave the pars blank for an item then it will not be included in suggested orders by that par level.
Note: Par levels are based on the inventory units. So, for example, if you purchase by the case and inventory by the pound, you would enter the inventory units here, i.e., pounds.
