You can issue complimentary gift certificates for promotional or other reasons using the Issue Comp Gift Certificates screen.
When you issue comp certificates, a debit will be made to the GL account associated with the Comp Code selected, and a credit made to the GC inventory account (Other Accounts).
Enter the starting and ending serial numbers of the range of gift certificates you want to issue as comps, select the comp code that corresponds to the reason for issuing the certificates, and enter the date of issuance. Click Issue Comps Certificates to complete the entry.
