The Unapproved Menu Items feature allows you to enter all of the information for a menu item, without making the item available for use until it has been approved.
To create an Unapproved Menu Item, fill in the fields as you would for a normal menu item. Once saved, the item will be listed with the Unapproved Menu Items, but not with Menu Items.
To approve an item, click the Approve Menu Item button in the screen toolbar. Once the item has been approved, it will be removed from the Unapproved Menu Items list and appear in Menu Items.
Unapproved menu items can include unapproved prep items as ingredients, but the unapproved prep items must be approved before the unapproved menu item can be approved.
You can control access to the Approve Item button through Group security.
