List View (F8 Key)

You can alternatively view the details of a single record or a list of all records in the class you have selected by pressing the F8 key on your keyboard, or choosing View > Data Entry/List View from the menu bar.  The List view becomes another screen, as in the illustration below:

You cannot enter data directly when in List view; to modify a record double click on it in the list to go to data entry mode.

Excel Export

From List view, you can export the data directly to an Excel spreadsheet by clicking Excel.png Excel Export at the top of the screen.

Searching

You can search any field of the grid using the search field in the toolbar. You can access the search field using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-F, and execute the search by pressing Enter.

If a unique match is found, that line will be highlighted. If multiple matches are found, you will be shown a list of the description fields for all matches from which you can make your selection.

Filtering

To filter by a column in List view, click the Filter icon and you will be given a choice of available filtering categories. In the example below, the Base Unit filter icon has been clicked:

After selecting "Vol oz" above, only records with a Vol oz Base Unit will display, and the filter icon in the Base Unit column will be filled in, indication a filter is in use:

Multiple Filters

You can continue to filter by other columns to continue to narrow down the list of records. In the illustration below, the Level 1 column has been filtered to just show FOOD records:

Compound Sorting

You can click on any column heading to sort the grid alphanumerically by that column (a faint triangle in the column heading area indicates if it is sorted upwards or downwards).

In addition, you can sort another column within the previous sort order by holding down the Shift key while clicking another column head.

In the example below, a Level 2 sort has lined up Liquor brands according to a numerical designation that indicates liquor type; and then the Item Description column has been SHIFT-clicked to place the liquor in alphabetical order within each type:

Pinning

Columns can be pinned in the list view by clicking on the Pin icon.  This will lock the column to the far left and cause it to stay in place as you scroll to the left or right.

Unpinning a column will move it to the first position (left) of the unpinned columns.  To restore the default order, right click on any column header and choose “Restore Default Settings”.

In the example below, the Item # and Item Description column have been pinned and will remain viewable while scrolling left or right.
