The top box will provide the option for you to select all or to check only the values you want to see.  In this example, if you only want to see 'Jim's Menu' and 'Reports', simply check the boxes next to each and click on the Filter button at the bottom.

Note that the Filter icon changes from white to yellow when the column has a filter applied.

To clear the filter, click on the Funnel icon, then click on the Clear Filter button.

You can also use two filters to narrow down your search.  For example, you may want to find all ID numbers that are between two numbers.  To accomplish this, you would set both selector drop-downs as well as the And/Or selector in the middle

This will show all records whose ID is greater than 10150 and less than 20000.  This list will exclude records with the ID numbers 10001 and 10146

If you set the And/Or selector to 'or', you would receive all records since they are all less than 20000.
